Gate Valve Supplier in USA
Gate valves are commonly used in pipelines that require dependable isolation with minimal flow restriction. When the valve is fully open, the wedge or disc moves clear of the bore, creating a straight passage for water, steam, oil, gas, chemicals, and industrial utility media.
Valves Only welcomes your request if you are looking for a Gate Valve Supplier in USA. The valves can be chosen for different media, pressure levels, temperatures, and modes of operation.
How a Gate Valve Provides Pipeline Isolation
Turning the handwheel, or an actuator rotates the stem and it moves the gate away from or towards the seats. In the open position, the clear flow passage reduces turbulence. During closing, the wedge or discs make contact with the seat rings to isolate the pipeline.
Gate valves are selected when the system requires:
Full-bore pipeline isolation
Low pressure drops when fully open
Bidirectional shutoff where the design permits
Manual, electric, or pneumatic operation
Service across large pipe sizes and pressure classes
The valve should be operated through its full travel. Holding the gate partly open can expose the seating surfaces to high fluid velocity, vibration, and uneven erosion.
Gate Valve Designs Available
- Rising Stem Gate Valve
The stem moves up when the valve opens, in a rising stem gate valve. This provides a visual indication to the operator of valve position and ensures that the threaded portion of the stem is not in the process medium. There should be sufficient vertical clearance over the valve.
- Non-Rising Stem Gate Valve
The non-rising stem does not move up and down. The gate travels along the internal stem threads, creating a compact arrangement for buried pipelines, valve chambers, and installations with limited overhead space.
- Pressure Seal Gate Valve
A pressure seal gate valve applies the pressure of the internal line to enhance the ability of the body to seal against the bonnet. It is intended for use in high pressure and high temperature applications like steam headers, isolation valves in boilers and power plant piping.
- Double Disc Gate Valve
A double disc gate valve uses two parallel discs that move against separate seat rings. This design provides parallel seating and is suitable for selected process and pipeline applications where dependable isolation is required at lower differential pressure.

Industries That Use Gate Valves
Oil and gas: Used to isolate crude oil, natural gas, fuel, and pipeline sections during operation or maintenance.
Power generation: Installed in steam, boiler feedwater, condensate, and cooling-water lines.
Water and wastewater: Common in pumping stations, treatment plants, municipal networks, and distribution pipelines.
Chemical and petrochemical: Selected for process fluids, hydrocarbons, utilities, and corrosive media with suitable materials.
Mining: Used in process-water, drainage, utility, and selected slurry lines.
Marine and offshore: Applied in ballast, cooling-water, fuel-transfer, and offshore process systems.
Butterfly Valve Designs and Enquiry Requirements
Valves Only is a well-known butterfly valve supplier with wafer butterfly valves, lug butterfly valves, double offset butterfly valves, triple offset butterfly valves in different body materials, seat types, pressure ratings, end connections and actuation types for many industrial applications.
Customers can only provide the line size, pressure rating, operating medium, temperature, flange standard, shut-off requirement, actuator preference, quantity and documentation requirements. The team will then be able to suggest an appropriate butterfly valve configuration and offer a technical and commercial quotation.
