Working Mechanism:
A floating ball valve work by using a ball with a hole through its center, which is inside the valve body & the ball rotate to control the flow of fluid. What’s there to notice is that the ball is not fixed but instead it “floats” between the two seats of the valve i.e., one being the upstream side and other being the downstream side. Once the valve handle gets turned, it will rotate the ball 90 degrees, while aligning the hole with fluid flow path, thus allowing the fluid to pass through. When the handle is turned perpendicular to the flow , it blocks the flow and provides a tight seal as the pressure from the fluid pushes the ball against the downstream seat, thereby improving the valve’s sealing capability.
