Wafer Butterfly Valve

Valves Only is a leading Wafer Butterfly Valve Supplier in USA, designing valve to control and isolate flow in pipelines without taking up much space. The wafer body fits neatly between two flanges, making installation simple and cost-efficient. These valves are used in water treatment plants, power stations, chemical facilities, and marine systems where lightweight construction, quick operation, and easy maintenance are important. Each valve is built to handle a wide range of fluids while maintaining reliable operation over many cycles.

How Wafer Butterfly Valves Work

A wafer butterfly valve controls flow using a circular disc fixed to a central shaft. Turning the disc a quarter of a turn allows or blocks flow through the pipeline. The wafer design is clamped between flanges with bolts that pass around the body, which keeps the valve centered and secure. This structure makes the valve lighter than flanged types and reduces the need for additional fittings. It can be operated manually with a lever or gearbox, or automatically using pneumatic or electric actuators.

Benefits

  • Compact and lightweight construction that fits easily into existing lines
  • Quick quarter-turn operation for opening and closing
  • Simple design with fewer parts, reducing maintenance needs
  • Minimal pressure drop when the valve is fully open
  • Suitable for both isolation and flow regulation tasks
  • Available in different materials to match service conditions
