BS Non Rising Stem Gate Valve

ValvesOnly is renowned for its high performance as Non Rising Stem valve manufacturers in USA. Unlike the traditional Gate valves, this valve operates with a different mechanism, where the Gate is raised or lowered with the help of the stem rotation, allows a precise control over the flow.

Working and function
A Non Rising Stem has a valve body that serves as the main housing for the valve, which supports the system. Bonnet is used to closes the stem and other internal components, located at the top of the valve. Its wedge-shaped Gate can slide up or down to control the fluid flow, within the body. The seat is to provide a tight seal against the gate and prevents leakage. The gate is connected to the operating mechanism through its threaded stem, and the stem is connected to the gate through a stem nut – engages with the gate’s internal threads. And this enables the movement of the gate. The operating mechanism will be responsible for rotating the stem – raising or lowering the Gate. The stem does not move up or down during the valve operation, instead it rotates to lower or raise the gate within the valve body. To open the valve stem is rotated clockwise which causes the stem nut to move downwards, then the gate lowers and obstruct the path of the fluid. To close the valve stem can be rotated anticlockwise and the stem nut moves upward.
